Black Chickpeas Sundal

Black Chickpeas (Karuppu Kondakadalai) / Garbanzo beans Sundal is one of the offerings to the worshippers in the Hindu temples. Chickpeas or any other legumes are packed with protein and easy available. All that need to be done to make Sundal is 8 hours or overnight soaking, pressure cooking, and tempering. How easy is that, to make it during a festival time, for an evening snack,for a healthy breakfast to kick start your day! Let's see how to make this easy peasy Sundal in a jiffy.

No. of servings - 2 | Preparation Time (8-12 hours soaking time) | Cook Time - 20 minutes
Black Chickpeas- 1/4 cup
Grated Coconut - 1 to 2 tablespoon
Water - as needed

To temper:
Gingelly oil / any oil - 1 to 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard + broken black gram dhall (Ulundhu) -  1 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 8-10
Red chillies - 1 to 2

Directions to make Black Chickpeas Sundal:
1. Pressure cook Chickpeas with water till 3 whistles.
2. Allow the pressure in the cooker to settle
3. Add oil in a pan and temper mustard_dhall,red chillies broken into two,curry leaves.
4. Garnish with coconut and turn off the stove immediately, to retain the taste of fresh coconut.
